"It's one of the most important days of your life. Let Hilton ensure it becomes your most cherished memory. There's much to be done, and that's where our dedicated approach to weddings comes in. Our role is simple. We're here to make organising your wedding day easier and enjoyable. And rest assured that's exactly what we'll do."

Brian's View:

Its worth pointing out now that in the last year the public areas of the Caley have been upgraded significantly. By far the most significant feature is Peacock Alley which is now an Atrium. Light, airy and spacious. The Grand Staircase has also been tidied up and is now a fabulous place for photos. The chandelier has been changed to a pearl-drop design but I'm not sure if its been re-positioned. When shooting down from the upper balcony, it got in the way and spoiled what should be a wonderful scene.
The Caledonian Hotel (or Caley as its known locally) sits at the West End of Princes Street, near the Castle, and is one of the "big two" city hotels on Princes Street. As a city centre venue it offers everything you'd expect from Hilton's Edinburgh flagship. It offers a choice of rooms catering for small, medium and large weddings with a dedicated wedding co-ordinator who'll be present on the day too.
I should say that my wedding was held here in 2010.
Pros: An alternative to the Balmoral with similar features; easy to reach from railway & tram stations; Peacock's is now light and airy; The Castle Lounge and Function room can cater for very large weddings; recent multi-million renovation (2012); on-site parking.
Cons: A city centre venue; traffic & congestion; parking is available but not exclusive to wedding guests.
